Here is the process...
1) Take a photo of something
2) Take another photo of the same thing from about 5-10 inches to the side (maybe a bit more if it's really far away) taking note of which photo was left and which was right.
3) Open both photos in photoshop
4) Copy one of them and paste it into the red channel of the second photo - if the left picture is in the red channel, you need to put the red lens over your left eye.
5) Move the newly pasted red channel around to line up the pictures - you may need to rotate it slightly. If you line up the background, the picture will appear to pop out and lining up the foreground will make the picture seem to receed.
6) Get rid of the green channel if it is messing up the picture.
7) ...
8) Profit.
