# a Game and a request
Clicky:

I have made a game but I cant be arsed making new backdrops to different levels.
If anyone here wants to do some I need a military base and a construction site, size 512w 360h in flash.
If anyone wants to suggest anything else for the game please do.

# What does the game involve?
Or is that of no consequence?

# click and play it
or I could jst tell you

You control the black swarm which has to pick up people and drop them onto the cracked area in the road.

# Doh, didn't realise it was clicky!
Very woo.
I may give one a go when I've finished what I'm doing.

# Did you make the sound effects a bit quieter since last time?
I seem to remember the swarm noise as being fucking annoying, but it's better now.
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:31, archived)
# Yes I did.
I havent worked on it in ages but i have some free time now. Ive just learnt that I prefer coding to drawing

# If I remember well, this game is fucking mad
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:40, archived)
# yup
its based on a sandbox game where the objective was to get the biggest death velocity off the people you flicked up in the air
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:42, archived)
# this one, iirc
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:51, archived)
# oh this is nice
it vaguely reminds me of something I was programming then got bored with before it became an actual game

I'll try find it

bah, can't find it :( oh well
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:40, archived)
# That's pretty good
But when you click 'rewind' to get to the title screen, the swarm and people are still there.
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:42, archived)
# Then dont press rewind
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:45, archived)
# Ok then.
But it could to with a sound off button
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:49, archived)
# fair enough
also, if you rewind the people are still there but when you start a new game they disapear when the people are put in
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:51, archived)
# Yeah
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:54, archived)
# It's a bit low poly...
can I have a cup of tea?

I like it but alas have no talent to help

oh wait, I wasn't meant to kill everyone?
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:43, archived)
# very low polly
in that it has 0
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:45, archived)
# Yay!
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:49, archived)
# yay!
i remember that
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 15:53, archived)
# Well that's rather fun!
My CPU is overloaded right now though so I was playing it in slomovision. Quite hard too!
(, Sat 8 Sep 2007, 16:00, archived)
# oh as for suggestions
I think the first thing I'd do is introduce new pedestrian behaviours in new levels, and also maybe start introducing obstructions. Maybe you could introduce some puzzle elements too? Like "if you break this wall then it opens a funnel you can chuck the pedestrians into". Or something :)

# My main problem with this game is one that bugs a lot of flash games
In a game where you've got to move the mouse quickly towards the edge of the screen usually results in you leaving the game window and switchign task. This was certainly the thing that made swarm a big pain in the arse. This game doesn't seem to have the same issue but it's just as frustrating. You just feel like you're stabbing blindly, there's absolutely no reward to the gameplay.
