# I heard a story from my geography teacher a few years back
About a student who wrote an essay on how earthquakes were caused by 'big ships making big waves that shake the world'

He dragged it out, even though he knew it was bollocks.

Those kinds of essays are at least entertaining because you KNOW they're kidding..

What was this one about then? =]

# I've had worse, I have had 2 separate student occassions where:
1.) on asked to produce a map of norwich, and identify key locations when considering upcoming development, have gone to google, searched for 'map of norwich' and have promptly printed out a map of Norwich, in the US, highlighted it, and drawn over it without realising it's the wrong feckin' continent, let alone, the wrong city...
Even down to highlighting the 'old indian burial ground' - I shit you not

2.) on producing an assignment for 'environmental design in construction' forgot to use spellcheck, and proudly stated...
'most releases of methane and other harmful gasses into the environment are caused by CFC's and ARSEHOLES (they meant 'aerosols')

Today's assignments have even been worse than that.

This one was very simple, they had to RESEARCH and give separate answers for the roles and repsonsibilities of various design team members, then they had to describe the RIBA plan of work, and give basic job descriptions for people like architects, technoogists, client, contractors, building surveyors etc etc, all routine stuff which we've done in class and they've been given comprehensive notes on up to a point, leading to their own research, yet they STILL don't discipline themselves in researching on their own and doing it.

They are SO gonna get a bollocking on Wednesday at 1pm...

# I thought that too, what with the methane and everything, but not even a student would be silly enough to put that down deliberately
