First of all, sorry for the threadjack, (gotta love Ivor), second I need a bit of help on Quark.
I wanted to put a kind of shadow on some text, so I duped the copy, offset it, and made it black underneath so just a little bit was showing around the right hand side and bottom. Voila a basic shadow.
However, when it printed, the black came through the red of the top copy, so it looked like a red shadow was top and left.
Any ideas how I can combat this?

Unfortunately, the mags are all set in Quark. Switching to Indesign would involve resetting 64 pages before going to the printers at close. :(
Fuck it, I'll just do it in potato shop and tiff it.
