Roughly 8-10 hours

# worth the effort

(, Wed 12 Dec 2007, 1:10, archived)
# Yes, this
I dread to think of the mess doing this in photoshop would create
(, Wed 12 Dec 2007, 1:11, archived)
# Photoshop
and no mess, everything is as tidy as a bean!

# Kudos
I hate tracing in photoshop, always found it monstrously long-winded :)

# Perhaps
that's where the 8-10 hours came from then!

When I first started i thought it was going to be an easy job, alas, 3 days on i'm nowhere near finishing

# I still don't understand it
are you meant to use shape layers?
Otherwise, it doesn't stay scalable without lots of messing about.
(, Wed 12 Dec 2007, 1:16, archived)
# Yeah, using the pen tool creates shapes rather than layers
to be fair, I only used it twice before I got into illustrator. Much easier once you get used to it

# Xara was awesome when I tried it
(, Wed 12 Dec 2007, 1:24, archived)
# Ooh thas pretty
gradient meshes and everything?
(, Wed 12 Dec 2007, 1:26, archived)
# It didn't support gradient meshes.
It does feathered edges nicely though, it's very fast.

EDIT: Blimey, thats lovely

# Depends
on the size of the original image, you can get away with a lot. Obviously they are not true vector layers in photoshop until converted.
