No word of a lie
There's a school at the bottom of my road and I've seen them load up their kids into their Chelsea Tractors and DRIVE about 10 doors down to the school and offload them again.
Makes my blood boil, it does.

wankers.
I think anyone that drives to school is a wanker. I send mine in a taxi.

I knew a couple of people who got a taxi from the train station to school.
To be fair it was a good 5 minute walk.

I used to walk a mile to school in the morning
only time I took motor transport was to go to high school, that was because it was in the closest town that was about 10 miles away.
And I only got picked up by child abusers 15 times. Small price to pay for my health.

i used to ride my bike to school every morning
i was a little psychotic about it, i HAD to ride my bike, even in the snow. I felt naked without knowing my bike was waiting for me after school was out

My dad drives a 7.2 litre four by four
but he lives in Ontario in Canada, where the snow is like five foot deep at times
I don't have a problem with the 4x4, just in areas like Highgate in London, where you really have to be a complete cunt to drive one
given the motor industry has just spent twenty years making the saloon safer when it impacts humans, the fashion in 4x4 cars has just blown all this away

I think my main problem with them is the 'aesthetically pleasing' metal bars you can get mounted on the front.
You know, just around head height for a child.

They may have a purpose in the countryside,
but they have no place in a town or city.

But, and this is just an idea,
one has a car in order to move from the countryside into town, or vice versa.

I did consider that and hoped noone would notice.
My point still stands for people travelling purely within a city.

I'd have one of these
just to leave in my garage. It could keep my bikes company.

Nice!
I want a 130 with a 110 estate body and a 20" pick-up.
I also cannot afford a pasty.

Yep
4x4 country, rural roads at the very least are a bit wonky, I have experienced a ditch in Wales coming off a 750cc bike
But this issue really erks me; i'm not some environmental nutter, it just completely stuns me how selfish certain elements of middle-class society can be with their choice of urban vehicle. The school run? 4x4's basically kill kids forwards at least at 25mph, and yet they feel safer. Reeks of selfish wanker to me.

I like being up higher.
That said, I don't understand the school run at all.
On the few occasions that I have used the car (because I am either late coming back from somewhere or going straight to somewhere from school) I find it takes longer than walking because there are so many Chelsea tractors blocking the roads.
