Herman Li is one of the most inventive guitarists around. Not technically brillint but he does have some really cool ideas.

I find all Dragonforce songs sound the same. Impressive, but boring. I'd rather not listen to an album full of guitar solos.

And Vai, and Malmstein

But whilst they are miles ahead of many other guitarists in their technical skill, they seem to just pull out the same riffs in different orders for all their songs.

It's just not fun music.
