would explain a lot

haha, *persists*

# it wears off after about an hour
i've just been put back on diet pills, so i'm getting 2-3 hours sleep a night
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 1:49, archived)
# That's fuck all, how do you cope?

# i've suffered from severe insomnia my whole life
i'm used to it by now
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 1:54, archived)
# I survive on
3-4 hours a night now and have done for years. I may get 5 hours if I get really steaming, comatose drunk the night before. I have a site meeting at 7 am tomorrow and around midnight I realised to my horror I was sober, so I'm hammering the bacardi in the hope I will get a few hours sleep. Insomnia is the worst curse.

And you Miss Monkey, why the pills? You are not an overly large lass if I recall?

# i'm larger than i appear
and have to lose weight in a hurry to have surgery. i could lose the weight naturally, but my health has pressed the issue somewhat
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 2:01, archived)
# ah in that case I approve.
Is this operation available at bupa? And just how long would I get free amphetamine before I absolutely, positively had to admit I don't actually need the op?
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 2:03, archived)
# pff
i'm actually having the surgery done in an ex-bupa hospital. they give you a morphine drip with a button. you press the button, you get morphine. they will take it off you, however, if you press the button too much
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 2:06, archived)
# you get them in the NHS too
they tend to only take them off you when they're empty as they're programmed to only work a specific number of times (normally once every 5 minutes) and the pain team are too busy to actually check the usage statistics of each patient, so unless you're in pain and it's having no effect they just leave you to it

# i want one of those set-ups
in my house
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 2:17, archived)
# think the hedgehog from hell
and a GP are required first.
the other thing they do (rarer) is to maintain an epidural for about 24 hours post op, this is annoying as it (usually) prevents physios getting patients up out of bed as they have no feeling in their legs
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 2:20, archived)
# i just wish
i hadn't had to quit smoking before this op, it's steadily driving me nuts!

# tea is better than coffee
i normally use party rings, but morrison's didn't have any :( i've only got raisins, apples and USBless bourbons in my room :(

# shortbread fingers ftw

# meh,
used to love em, then mum stopped buying anything else so went off em
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 1:52, archived)
# i'm not a lover of biscuits
so i don't eat them very often. every now and again, though, i will treat myself to some shortbread. i've got some in the cupboard now, in fact, but my stomach is playing up enough as it is
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 1:56, archived)
# For what do you normally use party rings?
(, Wed 6 Feb 2008, 1:53, archived)
# to help me work
as you can see lack of party rings = me going on b3ta instead of polishing off my essay
