But reading these stories pisses me off! Why on earth bother giving people 30 years but then allowing them to be paroled in half of that? Why not just give her 15 years?
Because if you give her 15 years and she is a complete unremorseful boastful cow then you have to let her out after 15
if she gets 30 then you can keep her in.

Its not the length of time I have a problem with as such
but I dont understand why someone who shows remorse deserves less time than someone who isnt? At the end of the day, they have both commited the same crime!
but to be fair, if someone has done it once, how can you really be sure that they arent gonna come out, start a new relationship and lose their temper with that person?
Its the main reason why I gave up studying law myself. That and the fact that my lecturer insisted on using Simpsons characters in the scenarios so that the less bright people could relate to it!
