# i thought a marijuana grow-op.
or swimming in a mint-chocolate milkshake.

# Yeah that's it...
Mint chocolate pieces! Am hungry now for a Peppermint Crisp.

# i'm eating an orange with some dark chocolate now.
it is good.

# Interesting combination
That's almost like a Jaffa

# i love orange and chocolate together.
i used to manage a cafe and my dessert contribution was an orange and chocolate cheesecake with chocolate mousse on top. it tastes incredible but is about 10 000 calories per forkful, so i don't make it any more.

it could be more jaffa-like if you made the crust more prominent.

# We need the recipe!

# ok, i can dig it up.
i've made it using a weird thing they sell here occasionally - chocolate-flavoured cream cheese. it enhances the flavour not at all.

# Yeah thanks!
That sounds interesting Chocolate and cheese. Can't say I've tried that combination.

But I guess that could be like Peanut Butter and Jam (your jelly)

# they sell a caramel-flavoured one as well.
it is bland.

# Doesn't tiramisu sometimes have chocolate in or on it?
That's made with mascarpone cheese.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 6:23, archived)
# it always has chocolate shavings on top (or should, anyway).
i've had it made with chocolate liqueur instead of coffee liqueur (or plain espresso or coffee), but that makes it far too sweet - need the coffee to balance it.

i've had some ungodly tiramisu variants. once with (i kid you not) smarties on top.

# Get some ginger going with that
and you'll really get the taste buds buzzing.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 6:03, archived)
# we actually tried that version once.
it was less than the sum of its parts - any two of those flavours work well together, but all three don't seem right.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 6:08, archived)
# Oh I think it can work
but you need to jiggle the flavours... use thinly grated orange zest, crystallized (candied) ginger, and satanically dark chocolate (85% cocoa).
Trust me, I'm a food doctor.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 6:11, archived)
# step aside! i'm a food doctor!
there is orange zest in it (and orange bitters and orange liqueur). and of course the chocolate is dark - milk chocolate is for infants and the insane. when i feel indulgent there's a place across town that sells superdark imported from belgium.

i like eating candied ginger (and ginger in general), but it just didn't work in this dish. and i've sworn off eating any cheesecake until i am sleek again.

# Oh did I say ginger?
I meant herion.
It actually helps you lose weight, imagine that.

# Lima is freaking out in the hall again
just running up and down and skidding to a halt. He's going to wake Kk up if he doesn't stop soon. And if I say anything to him or approach him he just gives me an insane look and makes that "brrrp" greeting noise, then runs away.

# i love crazy-cat time.
not that they generally pay attention to humans anyway, but those moments when they seem to be peering into different dimensions and spaz out are great.
