I've been sleeping, but you've fucking riled me with your description of european beer as 'gnat's piss'. One of the things I find wonderful about having been in germany the past two and a half years is the fact that beer is actually good here. Local breweries always have a good following so they don't disappear under the marketing of big-label overly carbonated piss like they did and to some extent still do in britain, therefore beer drinking here is interesting as well as tasty. My local beers here are Koestritzer and Jever and I can higher recommend them, but there are other beers which are less common in britain (but available if you search for them) like Paulaner, Maisel Weisen, Warsteiner, proper Budweiser, Sternberg, Krombacher and Kristalweisen amongst others. All these beers cost less than £2.50 a litre and I find that infinitely better than going to pubs in britain and shelling out £3+ for a choice of Stella or Carling, where the awful taste is disguised by the carbonated tongue assault. So, ner. Staropramen is indeed good though.
