Wasn't there some guff about choosing their appearance when the Master regenerated?Perhaps I dreamt that bit. She's not a full Time Lord, so possibly that's why.

That happenedto the Troughton Doctor when he was exiled to Earth. For some reason he had to regenerate, but was given a couple of seconds to choose a new appearance from four or five faces.
