The only problem with lemonylast time I looked is the GIMP pages were broken.
It may be worthwhile writing an optimisation guide for GIMP. I would but unfortunately while I'm fine with JPGs I suck with GIFS :(

i had'nt noticed its flawsit's more about making the point that there are image size guidelines, who really ever read all of the faqs before posting? in my own case i didn't even have a clue what optimisation was
and went over size by a wee bit with a couple of posts. it was the lovely ms tutt who very nicely pointed out the error of my ways and i made an effort to sort it out thereafter. not ms tutt you understand but my size issues.

oh yeahi'm not trying to knock it much -- even though the photoshop bits are the ones that i've been able to read it's still helpful. there's a few things which are program-specific which don't work in the gimp (at least not for someone who doesn't know it well, which still includes me) which was my only real knock.

Most of the time that I've seen large images it has been:GSTQ posting his lemony link.
Someone saying 50kb only etc but not in too bad a way. (what I do, I've even offered to optimise a couple of times...)
There are a couple of twats that post fail, but not many
Then again, my bed time is about lunchtime in the UK and maybe I don't see it all.

being nice is much easier than being a an over zealous nazinot as funny admittedly.
i tend to put the boot in only after trying to be nice a couple of times or if someone really is taking the piss.
