I was the only bloke in the shop when a message came on the intercombetween the workers
I overheard it and it said

Meh- 1 while 4 of that shouldn't be a problem
- b3tans are kind of an exception to the '5th in my eyes (I don't really get on well with people either)
- I can't see 6 coming up really (and you could just move away if someone brings a quick snack in)
- and it's a function room not a normal pub (though we do have out own bar)
As for the scared thing, most people are before they've been to a bash but I've not spoken to anyone yet that has been to a (non-talk board) bash and not felt welcome and comfortable pretty much immediately.
...however, I'm seeing that you're not really convinced on this idea and so shall stop hassling you :)
