as soon as i find out what all that contrast ratio stuff means i may be tempted, i like the look of some of the lg stuff.

The higher the number on the left of the colon, the better picture quality.
e.g. a monitor with a contrast ratio of 800:1 is shite, whereas 1200:1 is very good, but 1800:1 is optimum.

Yes, exceptionally so.
Especially for a computer monitor, LG monitors are superb.
You never have to worry about picture quality with them. You're only problem is built-in speaker won't be great.

my speakers are off most of the time anyway. i hate things that make beeping, ping or any noises that tell me its doing something. also safeguards against unexpected horses.
