[My mpression is that,for all his liberal attitude, Zappa was somewhat a musical Fashist. His estate, ie., his wife, is also very particular regarding his image.
I believe Zappa helped DonVliet out ith a couple of tours, but artistically they never really saw eye-to-eye, although shared a great similarity 'composer-wise'. Zappa was definately the wiser in industry terms...]
