I've only used microsoft virtual pc,issues with ubuntu, yet suse works ok and is largely ok for your average user

virtualbox, which just manages to piss me off, I don't know what it is, but it just pisses me off

I've used other emulators but really, my hardware is crap so virtualisation is largely a pointless exercise anyway and the older machines run old crap with less pain than running the likes of bochs or whatever, if that makes sense :D

Sadly I can't afford the computer I want so yay for me buying stuff new that's actually worse hardware than what some folk just throw in a skip. :D
