# AGH!
I just downloaded an emulator and this programme (files available on request).

I spent - literally - years trying to complete this as a child (on a GREEN SCREEN!)

And then I find out it's technically impossible!

Time to POKE...

# Search YouTube for a speed run on it
it's truly gobsmacking.

(Damn my work's firewall for blocking Monkeon's host.)

# Speedrun?
Sorry to be an idiot, but do you have a link? Searches on YouTube for things like "jet set willy speedrun" fail me ...

# you must use the real thing
with dodgy cables

and loading from a crap tape recorder from dixons

5 minutes of EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDIDIGDIDGIIDGIDGIDGIDGIDG EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIDHDIADAIDMAIFDMAFNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARNRNRNRNANANAN

and then it crashes and resets

ahh, fun times

# Ahh, yeah
I used to have some game, I forget what one, which would only load one time out of every five, or something

Games were much more enjoyable to play when even the loading process was an infuriating, hair-tearing experience lasting an hour, at least

# now, using science
we can load the tape games at SUPERHYPER SPEED!

yay!

# I loved Head-over-Heels.

This is back when games were games and men were ten year old boys.

*goes off to play Locoroco*

# oh my god...
.. this brings me back. I used to try and hypnotise myself with the loading screens and the crazy sounds the tapes made!

ah... nostalgia

# Au contraire...
I enjoy typing RUN "JETSET.

And then typing:
10 CLS
20 PRINT "Ben is brilliants!!"
30 GOTO 20

Try doing that on your fancy-schmancy ZIP file.

Which reminds me - I need a tip. WinZIP charges after a while and WinRAR is telling me it runs out, too. Although I'm sure it didn't use to. Or maybe I can carry on using it even when the trial period's up? This isn't a question.

# yay for basic programs
10 PRINT "DISCOMEATS IS TEH BESTEST"
20 GOTO 10

:D

# you can use winrar forever
just remember to laugh in it's little electronic face when it requests money, it's best if you are eating at the time and can project spittle in long greasy strings to hang from you lower lip as it stands there trying to muster it's dignity before it slinks away back to it's lonely, empty house.
