coolI'm not too sure you need to lose anything. Looks just right for a flash movie.
To reduce its footprint for a gif, you could get away with making the shadow a consistant colour. It would look more cartoon like. I'm not too sure what app you are using. I'm not even sure how I would do that myself with lightwave to be honest.

It's Aftereffects CS3I thought of importing the footage into another program but I wasn't sure if any could render and compress GIFs as well. I think the main prob is that it's 8 secs.
