I have never had a virus infect my computer in my life, as I have a decent anti-virus.

Updates aren't automatic on my sustem, and my computer very rarely, if ever, crashes!

It sounds to me like your problem is that your computer isn't really powerful enough to handle everything you are running, which is hardly Microsofts fault.
