To be fair,most of the old cars have fallen apart too. They are easier to mend, but they aren't terribly good.
Bear (roar!) in mind that I have pretty much always had vintage vehicles until now (Delica is pretty fucking basic though!)

Bloody hell,That's not so much of a leap.
Reminds me of my first side-car. I built that out of chipboard at first and went nowhere - the aluminium version must still be around somewhere.
