I need to take vista off a pc and put xp on.
How do I format the hard drive to do this?

Press "F" after you tell Windows setup which drive you want to install XP on

# make a systems disk in windows 3.1 and boot from floppy
edit : or boot from cd and put the xp disc in it will on booting from the cd give you the option to format it.
