DON'T DELETE THE THREAD!
I think there is a good reason that this is not advertised. Because it does not exist.

Don't plan to delete it
But in general, what's the beef about deleting a thread? And why is there a delete option, if not to be used at the poster's discretion?

people tend to have chitchats in threads
and get pissed off when their precious words are removed. so it is often considered impolite, especially when an edit can fix a problem

I feel their pain--however....
if some of the precious words are scornful of what you have posted, then why tie up the board with it and push something 'important' off the board? *like a wanking stick figure or something*

a lot of people can be unnecessarilly scornful
if it's scorned because the picture is 1mb or a cumsplattered pair of tits then the edit button should be employed to make things nicer for everyone. but I suppose that deletion could be considered appropriate.
If the scorn is simply because some people don't like it, well leave it alone, it's just a matter of taste.
