# its in no way surprising
this country offers people too much of a sweet ride.
Its not that theres no work, people just choose not to work because its nicer sat at home in the warm with Jeremy Kyle.
No one is stopping them doing it, so why should they?

# my sisters boyfriend is a prime example of this...
he has been on the dole for about 5 years or as long as i've known him (probably longer!)
He's had jobs inbetween but he can't afford to live in his council house when he has a job!

# Hang on, I read this earlier.
It said 'Carl, 24, and Lauren, 20 (we haven't used their surnames by request)' or words to that effect. And there's numerous pictures of their fat, gormless, skiving heads all over the place. Weird.

# what
"and the jobs going are often so insecure and poorly paid they are not worth coming off benefits for. "

NOT WORTH COMING OFF BENEFITS FOR???

Maybe I'm being naive but if you're a jobseeker you arent supposed to be choosy about it.

# The insecurity bit rings true
as apparently signing back on is a nightmare.

# really? I've never done it and I've lived in some pretty shit places and done all sorts of shitty jobs
good ole bureaucracy!

# I've not either
and the wife's never re-signed on, although he did do it for the first time a few months back, due to being made redundant and having a pig of a time finding work. He's only got temporary employment until March, and then we're fucked again.

YEAH FUCKING DOLESCUM RAH RAH RAH I'M ALRIGHT JACK.

# Sorry, it says unemployment levels are high in their area and have been for some time
lots of people are having troubles at the moment finding work anywhere. Am I just too nice, or are these people not as bad as everyone is wanting them to be? They seem to want to work and/or get training.
