# Noice
What renderer is that? Is that proper depth of field, or faked with a z-buffer or summit?

I need to get my rendering skillz0rz up to scratch...

# as its computer 3D it will all be faked.
However - its not photoshop filters from where i'm sitting.

Edit: I can see how it could be photoshop done. but that would take more pissing about - better to the the 3d up and let it run a bit longer.

# How could it ever not be "fake"?
Or have renderers started simulating the internal workings of the camera lens these days?

# yes thats how the best ones do it.
they reworte the renderman ones for wall-e.

anamorphic lens effects needs a good lens simulation.

# Awesome, but time consuming!

# .
Renderer is FinalRender for 3dsMax.
Depth of field was done used FinalDOF.
FinalRender can do accurate 'real' depth of field as well - but it takes forever, and is never really worth it in the end unless you are doing extreme effects and/or stills.
ps. I can see your skillz are just fine from your portfolio. ;)
