# Nothing sweet about marmite.
Unless you're talking about New Zealand marmite.

British and South African Marmite is the same as Vegemite.

From the wikipedia article on Vegemite;

"The texture is smooth and sticky, much like peanut butter. It is not as intensely flavoured as British Marmite and it is less sweet than the New Zealand version of Marmite."

i didn't realise there was a difference between aussie and british marmites.

# Personally, I've never tried the New Zealand made marmite,
but wikipedia says it's sweet, and British marmite certainly isn't that. I've tried Vegemite once and it tasted pretty much the same as British marmite to me.
