# Sorry for TJ
But Iplayer is making me nostalgic for the days when the BAFTAs had class...

# to be fair they still have more class than the oscars
but they're doing their best by now having fucking claudia winklepicker involved

fry was funny and witty and engaging when he presented them, jonathan ross is just himself :(

# Yeah, he's not the worst host
for a British audience.. But when Fry was presenting, it felt like it was really selling British film abroad (to me anyway)

I havn't seen slumdog millionare yet, I'm sure its amazing, but I got the feeling that they were just hammering it as the vanguard of British film up against all these other hollywood ones, instead of including more Briith films.. I'm glad In Bruges got best screenplay, as it was fantastic, best British film maybe aswell, but then again its good a documentry got it..

To me though, BAFTA should be the place for highlighting great European cinema and great American "indie" but it almost feels like Oscar lite at the moment.. Heath Ledger getting the award? pay off for some one else gettting the Oscar possibly?
