# I thought it would be more appropriate to emasculate him
seeing as he doesn't have the balls to do the right thing
(, Tue 3 Mar 2009, 14:17, archived)
# I say take the money, it's the government's fault.
If i was in his position i'd do what he's doing.

# i'd put a 700 grand bet on gordon brown losing the next election
(, Tue 3 Mar 2009, 14:22, archived)
# I'd rather have him then fucking David Cameron.
Brown may have one eye and be a grumpy arse, but Cameron is a complete fuckwit, he wouldn't run the country properly, he'd be too busy updating WebCameron, what an ass.

# Nothing cynical about taking the piss out of greedy bastards.
I'd like to see it ruled that he can keep his pension, but he must eat it :)
(, Tue 3 Mar 2009, 14:15, archived)
# If they rule against him keeping it it will be worse.
Mark my words. The first person to suffer will be the common man at the hands of the greedy companies.
(, Tue 3 Mar 2009, 14:16, archived)
# I don't have a problem with him at all.
It's the mugs that let it happen I have a problem with.

He took full advantage of his legal position - show me someone who wouldn't.

No. Gandhi, though.

# I'm not saying he shouldn't have a pension at all
but his pension will give him more in a year than I will earn in 10 years of hard work.

...and I consider myself quite good at my job!

# so you have a problem with celebirties, sportspeople, MPs, people who have been in the army for 25 years... etc?
(, Tue 3 Mar 2009, 14:24, archived)
# Come again?
(, Tue 3 Mar 2009, 14:26, archived)
# They'd all have a pretty big pension.
I think he's in the right to have done what he's done, if anyone got offered that amount of money per year after you're 60 until death, they'd take it. It's the government's fault and they're just trying to not look like twats bu making it look like they're doing something about it.
(, Tue 3 Mar 2009, 14:29, archived)
# Hmmm
Well let's just agree that the Government have handled this whole sorry saga quite appallingly.

But the more I read about this the angrier I get. Apparently the RBS board DOUBLED his pension fund to £16M when he agreed to take early retirement (He's only 50).

# I see no cynicism
only the flat truth - bankers don't give a fuck what anyone thinks of them.
