because I did it the other day and i still like it

# Still running from the Aliens I see.
If you were a dayshitter that would likely have been a FP.
/ever pissy night person blog
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 2:51, archived)
# Yes, there's been so much stuff that people have posted during the nightshift, that has been FP worthy.
Thanks though!

# I may rant a bit too much about that fact.
It is mostly a board for, and by, the UKers, so there really
isn't much point or reason to do so. But why not, it's fun. [/;-D

However, I will say that a popular page by shift would
not be too hard to implement. And might go a long way
to showcase efforts by those in other parts of the world
who have chosen to play here too. *ends yet another rant*
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:15, archived)
# I agree 100%
But that's a good idea about a popular page, by shift.
Who does the coding for b3ta, is it Cr3?
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:18, archived)
# RobToo was stuck doing it last I saw, but I think he's got real things to play at.
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:21, archived)
# I believe so
As a pom I think this is a great idea!

*edit - stands corrected*
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:22, archived)
# I think we should compose a letter to suggest this
but I can't be bothered right now
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:32, archived)
# in some ways i prefer the night shift
slower pace, and in general, less crap. I'm more inclined to post my stuff at night, whereas in the day it would be more about "where's the funny?" and ten minutes later its off the page. Five minutes on a Wednesday.
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:22, archived)
# ^this.
and the shift been missing Cockweasle, gronkpan, kebab and mofaha and sir pigeon nipples, of late - to name a few

# Yes. Five this'es. Thin of company we are.
Also
postbear has been recovering(I hope) and several other fun people

# YES - Postie!!!!!!!! and Rapitinui!
How could I forget? ...... argh!

What happened to Postie? Is he alright?
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:36, archived)
# I fear to ask him somedays, as it is/can-be a pain for him to compose a reply.
He's got a run of issues and complications.
*waves hopefully incase he's lurking*
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:40, archived)
# ok. I hope he's ok.
GET BETTER POSTIE!!!!
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:50, archived)
# It is a harsh and often short life for a post, yeah.
I sometimes think I'm being too much of a prick, then I spaz
to what they do in the day and I feel fluffy in comparison.
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:29, archived)
# there does seem to be an element of the "us and them" mentality.
I have no idea how this shift got given the name, Gay Shift
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:34, archived)
# At one time there were several lasses and lads on board that like the same.
Still are some about. And someone wiki'd /talk as being gay and tossed nightshift in, as I recall.
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 3:44, archived)
# YEAH I HAVEN'T HAD A PICTURE ON THE FRONT PAGE IN THREE AND A HALF YEARS

I DON'T EVEN LOOK AT THE FUCKING FRONT PAGE ANY MORE, I JUST GO DIRECT TO /BOARD DO NOT COLLECT TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS DO NOT PASS GO
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 4:00, archived)
# FRANKLY, THIS IS MUCH HARSHER THAN ANYTHING I COULD HAVE SAID.
AND THAT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 4:06, archived)
# this is why we need a nightshift mod besides Bob because he is not always here to FP the fruits of our glorious labour.

but I'm much happier just posting for the hell of it, forget the front page altogether.
Especially since we have the popular page, the FP no longer constitutes the best of the board.
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 4:09, archived)
# I too have succumb to this thinking
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 4:21, archived)
# True enough, I've cracked into the bottom of popular a couple times.
And got an "in-joke" FP'd. But I am aware that too many
have fallen to the wayside from lack of that little bit of ego
boost for some damn fine work. Just saying.

# kind of
in engraving, you cut into the wood or metal, and force the ink into the cuts. the stuff i do is the reverse.... you cut, and ink up everything thats not cut. But yes, its done by cutting onto a block of wood.
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 2:49, archived)
# Nice work. How long did it take you to do that?
(, Thu 12 Mar 2009, 2:50, archived)
# probably 45 min
sketched it out in pencil, cut, mixed the ink and there we go. my attention span does not allow for much more than that. That one was fairly simple.
