i prefer adzuki beans - like miniature kidney beans, and so they don't stand out as prominently in your chilli.
also ueful in getting some bean into the dinners of non bean eaters, if that makes sense!

How can kidney beans
ruin a chilli con carne recipe? They are part of it.
If you don't like kidney beans then don't order a chilli.
It's like saying " I'll have a cottage pie, but don't put any of that mashed potato on it, I hate mashed potato "
I love kidney beans, and butter beans, personally.
