That's what I do,only I file the disc away in a ring binder, remove the inlay art and lyrics booklet, file those away in another folder, and record the track listing in another ring binder (so I can easily look up what tracks are on a disc). Then I dispose of the plastic case. Special/fancy cases (e.g. the Battersea Shield circular tin, the Isness/Otherness crazy butterfly case) are retained.
Oh dear, that sounds bad when recounted. ): It sounds mad but a few ring binders actually take up far less space than 350-odd CD cases.
