Dunno.
It's an Acer 1310, so not the world's most up-to-date, but I seem to get driver issues. then half the NT Kernel stuff dies. It was abolutely fine until someone from work installed something. Hopefully this time'll it'll be ok...

I'd think about an upgrade. Linux and variants take a lot of getting used to, by comparison Windows is an absolute breeze.
If you go for it though, dual-boot with XP.

if you install ubuntu over xp, it will walk you through the repartitioning in a nice helpful way
defrag your hard drive under xp before you start though, if i recall there are occasional bugs if you don't

I might just do that.
Might have to wait until Tuesday as I don't have a cd writer and I'm not sure it takes USB devices as a bootable option on that thing.
