Rrrraarrrrgh! Reinstallation rage. Fifth time I've had to reinstall Windows XP in the last two months. Different thing each bloody time as well. Just as well I've got the craptop as a spare.
Anyone care to explain how I go about sorting out Linux and how it works?

It's an Acer 1310, so not the world's most up-to-date, but I seem to get driver issues. then half the NT Kernel stuff dies. It was abolutely fine until someone from work installed something. Hopefully this time'll it'll be ok...

Might have to wait until Tuesday as I don't have a cd writer and I'm not sure it takes USB devices as a bootable option on that thing.

if xp is too much work, linux is not going to help you. download the latest ubuntu live cd and play around with it, but don't expect it to be easier because it just won't
disclaimer: i run ubuntu on everything, i only boot into xp when i'm testing software or websites on it

Just hacked off with having to go in to the repair console and type out page after page of commands to replace damaged files. Seems to happen most often after it downloads something from MS Update.

1. Turn off the computer for now and forget about it
2. Get a nice glass of beer/wine etc of your choosing
3. Fuck.
Once you've followed this 3 point plan, it won't seem like such a big deal. :D
