Slight TJ: I've always wanted to ask this;When inserting an object into a pic where part of the original pic will be in front of the insertion, (like Jesus' arm there) what's the best way of doing it?
I always cut away the bit to be in front, paste in the new object, then re-paste the top layer and use the soften brush to clean up seams.
Is that about it?

That is what I tend to do.I would cut too much arm away, then erase the edges of the arm and, if they are wrong, erase part of the egg.
Use feather and then burn/dodge the under piece.

i use very few of themwand, erase, lassoo and a bit of messing with colours/brightness for most stuff, i don't have a clue what most of it does and the pen tool was invented by the devil.
