Also concur re: Brydon. Love him dearly usually, but was completely underwhelmed.

# It wasn't good, was it?
Evidently reading from the script. Which kind of ruins it.

Ah well.

# I honestly can't remember anything he said
Stephen Fry sounded like he was enjoying himself too much, which is just not on AT ALL, and Brydon was just.... Meh. Which just leaves Dee. *votes Dee*

What happened to him, he used to be brilliant on Broadcasting House when filling in for Eddie Mair.

# I'm still not convinced about this Dimbleby thing of yours.
Jack Dee was excellent, though.

# Dee was excellent
Just watch Dimbleby on QT. These last few months have
been a joy to watch him. He's joking, and he's in on it.
He'd be perfect for the delivery of the double entendres.
Although Dee was great, it doesn't need a Comedian hosting.
It needs someone 'away' from the field
(, Tue 14 Jul 2009, 17:45, archived)
# He wouldn't be able to go back to QT and be taken seriously
This needs... erm... I don't know. Jack is good.

# I don't see why not
and anyway, Dimbleby has kept a lighter tone of late, and it's his guests who keep it serious.
Let's not forget, his father Richard Dimbleby was also behind the great 'Spaghetti tree' hoax and he was a serious broadcaster
