It was an old idea investigated by Fnord.
If you replied to a post, and changed the number of the post to predict replying to your own future post - it would go on forever.
Quite hard to predict, but he did it here:

Ah, it now causes an error.
Back in 2003 this would cause a browser crash.

When you reply in a new window,
it should have an ID for the post you're replying to. Eg. 9587580.
If you change this ID to the post you're impending to create, it would be infinite. I think they fixed it now.
