It's not really mashups, it's subtlely different.
'Take any film you wish, and photoshop the scenery, characters or titles into the style of a famous movie poster for a different film: The Dambusters in the style of Ghostbusters, Finding Nemo in the style of Jaws, etc.'
I think a lot of the confusion would have been avoided had the phrase 'mash-up' not been part of the challenge title.

This one is advertising an existing movie in the style of another movie.
I can't see the confusion, myself, but I really don't want to get too anal about this.
There was also a challenge involving muppets, but we won't go there just now....
