I am a massive Muppets and Sesame Street Fan. But he was shit. He was however, as you say, lovely :D
My personal favourites were Gonzo and Animal on The Muppet Show, and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street :D Closely followed by Cookie Monster and Elmo. I also loved the guy painted on the glass. He wasn't a muppet though.
