Mad night.One of our cats, Desi, is really sick, our vet was due here at 9:00pm. Just before 9 a thunderstorm began, then a couple of minutes later the power went out, just in our court. Then the vet turned up and we sat there discussing what to do by candlelight.

That was part of what was so strange.It made for a kind of odd feeling of intimacy which could have felt really out of place, but it was actually good, kind of soothing and humanizing.
