# Doom-kitten sees your doom.

# Feeling decidedly uninspired at the moment.
How are you?
(, Sun 30 Aug 2009, 8:32, archived)
# A little tired.
It's just after midnight here. Been reading a rather plain book
on Russian history all evening. As well as boarding, of course.

# Reading
improving business. I used to do that sometimes.

# So they say. I do a lot of it, and I am not so sure there is much truth to that.
I do a bit in the other direction too. Mostly I feed others with the results
of my explorations and research for them to write up in their own works.

# I'm trying to write a screenplay
I expect I should read a few aswell.

# At least to see what not to do, yes.
Raiding for ideas can also be useful.

# Well I've read a book about screenwriting
So I've got the skinny on format, protocol etc, just haven't read anoyone else's scripts.

# I may be biased, but grab some toys and a camera.
That has given me more insight into the process than
anything that I've ever read about it. It's not something
I aspire to do. However, I enjoy playing at it. As you've
no doubt seen in some of the things I've posted here.

# i recommend watching the russian movie "admiral" for a more entertaining take on revolution-era russian history
www.imdb.com/title/tt1101026/

or, if you're still in a reading mood, Solzhenitzyn's "Gulag Archipelago" will not fail to make you depressed as hell, yet make you feel better for knowing what really happened during Stalin's reign. Most people in Russia haven't even read it or even understand completely what happened then.

# Have it on the shelf, and read it now and again for reference, of course.
Admiral was ok, better than many films. I've got about 15 or so different
revolutionary histories kicking about and a bunch I've put aside to storage
or sold off. I've been reading back into the 1740-1875 area at the moment.
Mainly in regards to military involvement and developments eastwards rather
than its European entanglements and the protorevolutionary aspects which
have been done to death already. I'll not tl;dr with more this late in the eve. [/:-)
