I had been living in my student flat in the west end of Newcastle-upon-tyne about a week when the ancient washing machine died
so having noticed a really grubby 24 hour laundromat down a little side street, and realising that I was facing tomorrow with the prospect of no fresh sock / pants. I opted to use it at about 11pm on a Friday night!
...In what appeared to the same time at night all the local ladies of negotiable affection who frequented our low rent area, decided to come into the olny place open on the street for a spot of "warming up" by taking various items of clothing off and collectively putting them into a tumble drier to heat them up.....
