Sunderland played Liverpool at football on saturday. Darren Bent of Sunderland had a shot, it hit a beach ball that had been thrown onto the pitch by a Liverpool supporter, deflected off it and went in.

# Football match, played at weekend, goal scored agaiunst Liverpool Football Club due to a wicked deflection off a Liverpool Football Club-branded beach ball thrown onto the pitch by a supporter of Liverpool Football Club.

Irony and hilarity ensued.

Apparently the LFC online store crashed shortly afterwards due to Manchester United supporters (traditionally ardent rivals to Liverpool) buying up all the beach balls to take to the match on Sunday.
