# Interesting factoid related to this, I met a guy once, a friend of a friend, whom I assumed to be in his mid 30s and to have some sort of a problem with greasy skin as he was always super-shiny,
turns out he was 20 something and had been slathering himself with various anti aging creams since his teens in an effort to stay young forever, the sheer weight of it all the crap saturating his skin had pulled it into a floppy, greasy, jowly mess.

I vowed from there on never to use anything but decent soap and some sun dodging, and it seems to have served me well.

*edit* I will add tho, a mild anti-septic cream works fantastic as a shaving balm, esp for me as I wet shave the sides of my head every few days (mohawk) and the nape of my neck goes sore and lumpy otherwise, and once a week a good soak in the bath followed by some defoliating scrub on the face, usually Friday so I look scrubbed for the weekend, does wonders to get the week's crap out of your skin, stops you getting blackheads anyplace you're prone and clears off all the dead skin. Morrisons does a corking cheapy own brand men's scrub I recommend, no need for owt fancy but it's worth the little bit of extra effort, trust me, nobody likes zits n blackheads and this shit sorts it right out any place you get problems, digs the crap out your face before it has a chance to take, try it.
