I was on CS2 and went to CS4 as it didn't get on well with Windows 7. Didn't like the interface at all. Plus it was slow as fuck.

Decided to give CS3 a go and it was much better.

And I'm not on some supercomputer, just a 18 month old £350 laptop.

Although you might want to look at how much you need the features that are added (and taken away - Extract, for one) before you decide.
