You do,My sister moved into a house last year in Penge. Turned out that there were roaches there. However, that was a result of the woman who lived there before being a proper scummer.

It was an assumption based on you having roaches,and you being up at this time, but the light being dark, which would preclude you being anywhere further east than europe.
I say that because when I was out in New York I went round to a friends house and it was only the second time I ever saw a cockroach. It seems to be a much bigger issue over there than here in the UK.
