I was making a weak QOTW-related jokeAnd yeah, I remember the joys of the personal statement.
While I was trying to write mine a few years ago I stumbled across a few example, one of which was for philosophy. The person had done their entire personal statement as a dialogue between two dead philosophers about how suitable the candidate was. I threw up, right there.

ah, sorry :)good lord. guess its possible to put a bit to much focus on the "make sure you stand out" advise.
really hope my tutor will proof read any guff out of mine, but i can safely say its not that bad.

You could always stand outby making sure you remember the difference between the verb "to advise" and the noun "advice".
