My mum still finds TV remotes confusing
Both my parents do, in fact. My dad threatened to kick me out a few years ago because he couldn't fathom the fact that the red light meant 'standby', and pressing the red button on the remote would make the TV show pictures again. Apparently it was broken, I must have fucked it up, and I shouldn't bother coming home. Which was nice.

My mum
still can't work out you have to point the remote at the tv or at least in the general direction of the tv to change the channel

I don't see how he can't press a button on a remote when told
but manages to drive himself to and from work every day with no problems. Surely cars are more complex?

My mum still blames me
for anything electrical breaking in her house. I left home more than a decade ago.
