MY BASTARD BIRTHDAY

Well, a booze-up the weekend preceding it.

Location: The Kirklands Hotel, 605 Leeds Road, Outwood, Wakefield.

How to get there: It's about 35 minutes on foot from the city centre and 10 minutes on foot from Outwood rail station.
If you're too lazy or physically incapable of walking this distance, the 110 bus (towards Leeds) runs every 10 minutes - the journey time is about 11 minutes from the city centre.

Also, if you want some floorspace, the boozer has a few rooms upstairs; or failing that, there's a Premier Inn just off the nearby A650 (which links up with the M1 at J41.)

You have to make it more popular. But consider me signed up. Not like I have an excuse mind. But pubwise, Fernandez, Harry's Bar or Henry Boons are usually good bets.

Pretty much, except they get rammed at the drop of a hat of a weekend.

There's also a couple of good ones in my neighbourhood - the Wheel (on Bradford Road) is a pretty cheap and cheerful Sam Smith's place; while the Kirklands Hotel (on Leeds Road) is an all-round ace pub, if a little expensive.

Changed it back again.

I was in the Wheel earlier tonight and was struck by how it's depressingly like going back in time to 1972.
