This is a link post I am struggling to express my contempt for this article
I only got so far as the line:

"How big is an atom exactly? Know this: You can't even see it with the naked eye."

When I read this I wanted to smash the internet to tiny, weeny, smithereens - even smaller than atoms.

And yet they define it later in the article; "half an angstrom (about half the size of an atom)".
