I just read on the bbc that the UKIP guy said this about Farage not turning up:
"He's a responsible family man and political party leader. Certain situations you have to avoid."
He added: "Croydon is unsafe and a dump."
Way to go, that's sure to win everyone over!!!

The 'situation' was two immigrants holding polite signs, two members of Class War, a Green Party councillor and me, doing a poem.
And 'candidate for Croydon calls Croydon dump' is an interesting tactic.
